Millefiori Barrette From Venice
"Millefiori," meaning "million flowers" has been an art form for which Venice has been famous for centuries. A variety of colors of thin glass rods are combined and rolled into canes. The canes are then sliced into cross-sections revealing the floral patterns inside. using traditional lampwork techniques, our Venetian artisans form each piece by hand over a small flame - no two are ever alike. Each is attached to a French barrette. 3" long x 1" wide.
